Official Forms
Once you have decided that I am the perfect celebrant for you, there is of course some documentation and paperwork that needs to be explained to you in full, and signed by you before I proceed with writing your ceremony.
The first, is NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MARRY, where I will need to sight some photo ID, passports, birth certificates and/or drivers licences.
If either of you are divorced or widowed, I will need to see the original divorce or death certificate, copies will not be accepted.
You will also need to sign a DECLARATION OF NO LEGAL IMPEDIMENT TO MARRIAGE prior to the event, and of course your official CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE forms on the day.
If you have any questions about any of the legal paperwork please ask.
Relationship Education
Before tying the knot with your dream partner, it is important to understand the commitments and promises you are making for a lifetime.
As your authorised Commonwealth-registered civil celebrant it is my obligation to give to you an official brochure called
HAPPILY EVER BEFORE & AFTER.
The information in the brochure tells you about the process of getting married in Australia, some important legal consequences of getting married, and where relationship support services, such as marriage education, family counselling or dispute resolution services may be obtained.
As your celebrant I wholeheartedly recommend that you discover a little more about each other, and yourselves with a concise premarriage relationship course.
I have compiled a RELATIONSHIP BROCHURE of my own with details of online and local relationship education providers for you to explore.
If you would like to see either of these brochures, please ask.
Real Consent
From 12 June 2024 all authorised marriage celebrants are required under the Marriage Act 1961 to meet with each party to the marriage separately, and in person, before the marriage is solomnised.
As your authorised Commonwealth-registered civil celebrant, it is my legal duty to ensure that both individuals entering into marriage are doing so willingly and with a clear understanding that prior consent does not substitute for current, REAL consent. Therefore, I have compiled a REAL CONSENT FORM which I need signed by both parties to acknowledge that you understand completely the significance of REAL consent, and that I have explained everything to you clearly and concisely.
If you would like to see my REAL CONSENT form, please ask.
Terms & Conditions
To protect you, the client, and myself, I have a consise set of Terms and Conditions which I go through thoroughly with you before the booking is finalised.
The document clarifies the terms and provisions of the agreed upon services between us, including payment of fees, and compliance with the requirements within the Marriage Act 1961, and Marriage Regulations 1963.
If you would like to see my T’s & C’s in full, please ask.
Insurance
Being a proud member of the AUSTRALIAN FEDERATION OF CIVIL CELEBRANTS you can be assured that I have up to date insurances.
I am covered for PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE as well as PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE.
